About
Christopher Jackson`s interest in natural sciences ignited during studying philosophy in Zurich. He thus finished his basic studies in biology at the University of Bern and obtained his MSc from the structural biology unit at the Biozentrum of the University of Basel. Turning to human research at its origin, he did his PhD at the University Hospital in Berne on mitochondrial disorders. After postdocs at the Department of Clinical Chemistry (University Hospital Bern) in Switzerland and in the Research Program for Stem Cells and Metabolism (Biomedicum Helsinki) in Finland, he is now principal investigator at the University of Helsinki (www.jacksonlab.org).
